Main duties

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Logistics and Security Department, the Safety and Security Assistant ensures the day-to-day management of the security and safety systems of the JRS mission in Chad. The position holder contributes to strengthening the skills, vigilance, and preparedness of staff in the face of security risks, threats, and incidents. To this end, they organize regular, high-quality training sessions and information briefings for national and international employees as well as for visitors to the organization. They are also responsible for guiding and advising staff on all matters relating to security.

Required profile

• Secondary education diploma (Baccalauréat) required. A post-secondary certificate or specialized training in security / risk management is strongly recommended
• At least 2 years of professional experience in the field of security
• Experience in a humanitarian environment or in a sensitive area constitutes a major asset
• Experience in the military or police forces is appreciated
• Proficiency in office software and radio communication equipment (VHF, HF, Thuraya)
• Excellent knowledge of the local context and security dynamics in Chad
