Here’s where you come in

As Resources Acquisition & Management Director, WV Senegal, you will provide strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for World Vision Senegal's resource acquisition and fundraising portfolio. You will lead the development and implementation of the National Office Resource Acquisition Strategy, with a strong focus on income diversification, strategic donor engagement, opportunity identification, pre-positioning, partnership development, consortium building, proposal development, and successful award transition. You will lead efforts to increase World Vision Senegal's access to funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, governments, UN agencies, development institutions, foundations, corporations, and other institutional/private funding sources, ensuring that resource acquisition is closely aligned with World Vision's strategy, programme priorities, and commitment to child well-being. You will work closely with the National Director, Senior Leadership Team, Programme and Technical teams, Finance, Operations, Communications, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), Supply Chain, People & Culture, Regional Office, and Support Offices to position World Vision Senegal as a partner of choice for strategic donors and partners. You will also provide leadership in developing a high-performing resource acquisition team and strengthening organisational capability in fundraising, donor engagement, proposal development, business development, and grants acquisition. As a senior leader within World Vision Senegal, you will model World Vision's Christian ethos, values, safeguarding commitments, and leadership standards, demonstrating personal integrity, servant leadership, and a quality spiritual life that positively influences others.

Requirements include

  • Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, International Development, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration or another relevant discipline
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred
  • Professional training or postgraduate qualifications in resource mobilization, fundraising, grants management, project cycle management, business development or a related field will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in resource acquisition, fundraising, business development, grants acquisition or institutional donor engagement, preferably within an international NGO, development organisation or humanitarian agency
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership or management role involving complex programmes, institutional fundraising or grants acquisition
  • Demonstrated experience securing and managing large, complex and multi-million-dollar institutional grants
  • Proven experience leading successful proposals and funding strategies for major institutional donors, such as USA Government Grants, EU/ECHO, FCDO, UN agencies, World Bank, AfDB, foundations and other bilateral/multilateral donors, as applicable to the Senegal funding environment
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a resource acquisition or fundraising strategy
  • Significant experience in donor relationship management, business development and strategic positioning
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary proposal teams and complex proposal development processes
  • Strong experience in consortium development, partnership negotiation and strategic networking
  • Experience working with government, UN, bilateral, multilateral, foundation and private-sector stakeholders
  • Experience working across development and humanitarian programming environments is highly desirable
  • Fully Fluent: English and French are required

Working Environment / Conditions

  • Work environment: Office-based with some travel to the field
  • Travel: 15% Domestic/international travel is required
