About the position

We are looking for a Cashier to join a banking institution based in Chad. The position is offered under a fixed-term contract of six (6) months.

Tasks and duties

• Carry out deposits and withdrawals on customer accounts
• Make authorized deposits and payments in accordance with the bank's procedures
• Ensure the authenticity of banknotes and detect possible counterfeit banknotes
• Process transfer operations and other transactions within the authorizations of the position
• Prepare and issue receipts or supporting documents for transactions carried out
• Ensure daily management of the cash fund
• Verify the match between the physical cash balance and the balance recorded in the computer system
• Perform end-of-day cash closing
• Immediately report any cash discrepancy (overage or shortage) found
• Ensure the safekeeping of funds in accordance with internal rules
• Prepare requests for replenishment or authorized fund transfers
• Enter all cash operations into the bank's computer system
• Verify the accuracy of amounts, references, and supporting documents
• Generate cash journals and summary statements of daily operations
• File and archive slips, receipts, checks and other supporting documents
• Transmit cash documents and statements to the competent departments for control

Profile sought

• Minimum BAC +2 in Management, Finance and Accounting
• Experience of one (1) year in cash handling or in a customer service department
• Maximum age: 40 years
• Proficiency in French; knowledge of Arabic is an asset
• Good knowledge of banking legislation
