Chief Finance Officer - Cotonou

Job Description

Bénin Cottontex SA is seeking an experienced Chief Finance Officer to lead the organization's financial strategy and operations. This is a senior executive role responsible for driving financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic guidance to support the company's growth across its cotton processing and textile manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes across the organization
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors
• Manage cash flow, treasury functions, and working capital to support production cycles and operational needs
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and corporate governance standards
• Lead cost control and capital expenditure planning for manufacturing equipment and plant investments
• Oversee risk management strategies, including financial, operational, and commodity price risk (raw cotton)
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, investors, and other financial stakeholders
• Lead and develop the finance team, including accounting, treasury, and financial planning functions
• Evaluate and support merger, acquisition, and investment opportunities where applicable
• Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to the board and senior leadership
• Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and ERP platforms

Required Profile Description

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred)
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role (CFO, Finance Director, or similar)
• Experience in the textile, manufacturing, or agro-processing industry is a strong advantage
• Strong knowledge of financial strategy, corporate finance, and risk management
• Proven track record of managing budgets, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance at a senior level
• Experience with ERP and financial management systems
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English and French; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment
