The Fondation Mérieux, founded in 1967 and recognized as a public-interest organization, is an independent organization chaired by Alain Mérieux. It works for global health by strengthening local capacities in developing countries, with the goal of reducing the impact of infectious diseases on vulnerable populations, particularly mothers and children.

Context of the PROALAB project

The PROALAB project aims to strengthen epidemiological surveillance and laboratory systems in West Africa. Its purpose is to ensure better protection of populations against epidemics. In this framework, the Fondation Mérieux is seeking an Infrastructure Manager to support this phase of the project.

Objective of the position

Under the supervision of the PROALAB team leader, the Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for steering, coordinating, and ensuring project communication, while ensuring compliance with the Fondation's internal protocols.

Main responsibilities

• Ensure technical project management, including the construction and renovation of 16 laboratories
• Manage a project team composed of a junior architect, a manager, a logistics and administrative officer, and supervisors
• Coordinate exchanges with stakeholders and produce technical and financial reports

Desired profile

• Education: Architect diploma or university Master's degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or structures
• Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in health infrastructure, works management, and IFI (KfW) tender processes
• Skills: Proficiency in French and English, ability to manage a team, mobility in West Africa

Contract terms

• One-year renewable contract, extendable up to 3 years
• Position based in Abidjan or West Africa
• Open to all nationalities
